It goes without saying; we all love a great deal! The question
is, are you going to find one, on an auction site such as eBay?
Well, in my experience, yes and no. As with any auction, online
or offline, people bidding against each other can often run the
price up to more than the item is worth. In which case, why
bother with an auction at all, just go down the shops or
wherever.

Ok, before I put you off the idea of auction sites altogether,
I have to say, they can still be quite useful. My personal
feedback score on eBay is 120+ which indicates that I have
profited from using the service. I have found it very handy for
getting rid of household items that are no longer needed. On the
flip side, some people use it to collect stuff that they
probably want but dont really need.

Of course you also have the part time trader types who scour
garage sales, boot sales, flea markets etc looking for
bargains, and then selling on eBay for a profit. Hey, Im not
knocking it, good luck to them, Im sure there are quite a few
people who do rather well out of it. Its not for me, though,
too much hassle, and then there are the dreaded fees.

Talking of fees, with eBay, when selling, you have to pay a
listing fee, and also a percentage of the final sale price.
Fair enough, I suppose, they have a business to run. Al though
I cant help thinking, the people doing the best out of eBay
are eBay. Ok, Im an old cynic, but I think it pays to be
cynical these days. Having said all that, they did not become
the market leader in auction sites by chance, and a lot of work
and some good business decisions must have gone into it.

You have to make sure you safeguard yourself against the
numerous scam artists trying to operate in the online auction
world. You can make a start by studying the information and
guidelines in the eBay site. Also, whoever it is youre dealing
with, do make sure you have a look at their feedback, and try to
get a feel of the sort of person they are.

At he end of the day, wheeling and dealing on eBay can be good
fun, and you can make a bit of cash as well. It does help if
youre an old cynic like me, or maybe thats a hindrance. You
decide.

====================================================================
Article Content:

Unemployment insurance is intended to be a social insurance program that provides temporary benefits to unemployed workers, and imposes payroll taxes on covered employers. It was created in response to the Great Depression, when millions lost their jobs. It was legalized in 1935 as a part of the Social Security Act.

Benefits of Unemployement Insurance:

Unemployment insurance replaces a part of your income when you lose your job, for no fault of your own. If your employer has laid you off, then you are potentially eligible to collect the benefits for at least 26 weeks, until you are recalled, find another job or leave the workforce. In general, the amount of benefit is based on the percentage of earning of an individual, over a recent period of 52 weeks. Many unemployed workers are also provided 50 to 60 percent of their previous wages, but this would depend on the state they live in. Each state in the US works on a different unemployment insurance plan, while the federal law determines the guidelines of each program. This insurance makes sure that the purchasing power of the citizen is maintained. The money for providing these benefits comes from the tax that is imposed on the employers. No contribution comes from the wages of employees. Some States may provide additional benefits for some specific purposes.

Eligibility For Insurance Benefits:

The state law determines the eligibility, amount, and the length of time the benefits will be available to an individual. The amount of benefit depends on the kind of work that you have performed. Your recent work record for a period of 12 months is known as the base year. The claim for unemployment insurance will be based on this base year. In Oregon, 104 dollars per week is the minimum benefit. The maximum benefit a worker can receive is 445 dollars per week. If your wages are 8,112 dollars during the qualifying period, you can become eligible for benefits for 26 weeks. In case of lower qualifying wages, however, you will receive just one third of the amount.

If you want to file a claim for unemployment insurance you need to contact the State Unemployment Insurance agency as soon as possible. You can also file it on the Internet or by telephone. You will receive your first benefit check within two to three weeks of filing the claim. Some states have a waiting period of one week. It is important to give all the information about your former employment when you file the claim, to ensure that the process is not delayed.

The eligibility for collecting additional benefits starts after an unemployed worker has exhausted other unemployment insurance benefits. The State agency can offer you advice on your eligibility for these additional benefits.

Reasons for Disqualification:

If your reason for staying out of a job is because of something other than the lack of work opportunities, then the State agency will determine if you are eligible for the benefits or not. In case of a disqualification, you can file an appeal within an established period. Your employer can also file a counter appeal if he/she disputes the genuineness of your eligibility.

Therefore, if you are eligible for unemployment insurance, then get in touch with the State Unemployment Insurance agency as soon as possible to be able to overcome the financial crisis that results from being unemployed.

ArticleBlaster Solving Banking Disputes

====================================================================

====================================================================
Article Content:

Although banks usually provide efficient services, they may sometimes commit transactional errors that can have a negative affect on your bank balance. If you suspect that there has been a mistake, you need to take it up with your bank as soon as possible. However, following certain standard procedures will help you to resolve the problem, without affecting your existing relationship with the bank.

Banking disputes can arise due to various reasons, which are mostly technical in nature, and can usually be settled amicably. For example, an installment payment could be wrongly deducted from your account before the due date, or the bank incorrectly charging you a penalty fee, or incorrect balance calculations, and the like. Sometimes disputes may also occur due to human error by the bank employees. Disputes like these can be settled agreeably by following the procedures given below:

Communicate In Writing

To settle a banking dispute, you first need to write a formal letter to your bank, explaining the basic problem, and the reasons why you think it has occurred. Providing the necessary documents to support your point of view will add to the veracity of your claim. This letter will allow bank officials to understand your case, and help them to conduct the necessary checks on related bank records or documents. It will also form the basis for future deliberations with your bank.

Read The Fine Print

Before making a claim of dispute with your bank, you need to go through all their business policies, and all the information given in fine print. When disputes are made, it is often discovered that banks are within their rights, and are following the correct procedures. By going through the fine print, you can ensure that you have proper rights to dispute your case.

Avoid Aggressive Behavior

Even if you have the legal rights to dispute your case, an aggressive stance will not solve your problem. Most errors are technical and unintentional, and bank officials will most likely ignore you if you get belligerent with them. Remaining calm usually results in resolving problems far more smoothly.

Meet Bank Officials In Person

Although letters can clear up most banking discrepancies, certain disputes may require you to personally meet the bank manager, or some other bank representatives. Communicating with bank officials in person will allow you to present your case in a better way, while also enabling them to understand the full extent of your problem.

You need to come to terms with the possibility that your case may not be worked out forthwith, because banks will most likely give priority to their daily working requirements. However, it is also true that banks value their customers, and will do everything possible to clear up their problems. Persevering with your claims of dispute until you get your problem resolved is advisable. Moreover, if you are not satisfied with the bank’s response even after a lot of negotiations, you can seek advice from financial advisors, or companies that settle banking disputes. You can rest assured that as long as you have the documents to support your claim, you will get your dispute settled in your favor, though it may take some time.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
Well, I am sure most people have heard of eBay, and here are a
few pointers to using it effectively. But, for anybody who has
not heard of eBay, the first thing you need to know is that it
is an online auction site which brings buyers and sellers
together. Over the last few years it has become the largest and
most open market for almost any item you can think of.

One thing you must realize is that there is a slight risk
involved with any dealings you have on eBay, as of course, it
is only as good as the people who use it. Luckily, eBay have
several systems in place in an attempt to safeguard the
interests of their users. You really need to read the
information and guidelines on their site, before you start
buying or selling.

Setting yourself up on eBay is fairly straight forward and
registration is free, but for some it can be a bit
overwhelming. Not to worry, there is a wealth of information on
the internet and lots of books to help you get started on the
right track.

When you come to sell on eBay, you have to pay a listing fee to
post your sale item and a final value fee, which is a percentage
of the final bid price your item achieves. The problem is that
if your item does not sell, you still have to pay the listing
fee, which is a pain in the wallet.

A very important part of eBay is the feedback system, which you
use to build your credibility. The better feedback you have, the
easier it is to find willing buyers who can have some trust in
you. I suggest you go along to eBay and familiarize yourself
with the system. To get some sort of idea of what to expect
your item to sell for, have a look at what similar items are
selling for, there is also a feature called the completed items
search.

One piece of advice is do not be too quick to leave negative
feedback for buyers or sellers, as there is a good chance that
they will return the favor, whether it is justified or not. As
a good example, my eBay account has a feedback score of 120+
and 100% positive. And I have never left negative feedback for
anyone, although at times I have been sorely tempted.

ArticleBlaster Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Prepaid Card

====================================================================

Author Name: Peter Kenny
Contact Email Address: peter@creditcards-gb.co.uk
WebSite: http://www.creditcards-gb.co.uk
Category: Finance, Business, Marketing, ECommerce, Advertising
Description: Although prepaid cards have many advantages, they can cost you money through various charges and fees. Many prepaid cards carry an application charge as well as a monthly usage charge.
Keywords: credit cards,balance transfers,cash back,advice,purchases,news,credit cards uk,visa,mastercard
Word Count: 524

====================================================================
Article Content:

Prepaid cards are one of the newest and most interesting financial products on the market, and they are something that everyone should be made aware of. However, many people do not know what prepaid cards are, and how they can benefit you. If you want to know more about prepaid cards, then here is some advice about their advantages and disadvantages.

What does prepaid mean?

Many of us have prepaid phone cards or SIM cards for our mobiles, but prepaid debit cards are quite a new idea. However, the concept is the same as other prepaid mediums, where you load money onto a card and then you can spend this money at retailers or withdraw the money at an ATM. You load money onto the card using cash, bank transfer or another card.

Are they credit or debit cards?

Prepaid cards are neither credit nor debit cards, but have features similar to both. These are VISA or MasterCard cards usually, and so have the wide usage and security features of a credit card. However, you are not borrowing money, simply using your own money to top up a card and spend on it. They are a financial product that falls in between debit and credit cards.

What are the advantages?

The major advantage of a prepaid card is that you can easily keep track of your spending and limit yourself to a certain level of spending each month. Also, you don’t have to pay interest and don’t have to go through credit checks to get one. All of the funds on the card are completely controlled by the amount of money you wish to put on it. This means there is no risk of borrowing too much and getting into debt.

Who should get a prepaid card?

Prepaid cards can be useful for anyone who wants to control their spending but still have the security and usage features of a credit card. Also, prepaid cards can be very useful for teenagers or children if they need a card. As a parent you can control their spending by only putting on a certain amount each week or month for them to spend, whilst still giving them the freedom and security to purchase items using plastic.

The costs of a prepaid card

Although prepaid cards have many advantages, they can cost you money through various charges and fees. Many prepaid cards carry an application charge as well as a monthly usage charge. If you are paying a monthly service charge, then you need to make sure that other services are given to you for this money, such as helplines or added security. Before getting a prepaid card, you should shop around to find the card that has the lowest fees. Although you are not paying interest, these fees can add up and if you don’t use the card a lot could cost you more than you will end up spending. However, if you look around there are some good deals to be had. If you want to control your spending or your child’s then getting a prepaid card might be the answer.

Article Content:

Keyword density and placement are important parts of optimizing your articles for search engines. Search engine spiders scan a page in a way that makes it important to place your keywords where they will be detected and recognized as a keyword, so that your article will come up when someone searches for that keyword.

What is a Keyword?

A keyword is a word that is going to be placed in your article several times, not just once as that would make every word a keyword. When a spider sees that you have a word placed several times in an article, it will determine that your page may be useful to users that search for such a keyword.

Over Optimizing Your Articles

It is important to note that there is also such a thing as over optimizing your articles for particular words, this is known as “keyword stuffing”. When you stuff keywords in an article a spider will detect that you are trying to trick it into placing your article high in the search engine results for that word, and will instead penalize your site and your page for doing such. This may even affect the rankings of your other pages or get your site blacklisted from a particular search engine if you are found keyword stuffing too many times.

What is Keyword Density?

Keyword density is how many times your keyword is placed in your article. Most use a percentage to determine how many times they will put a keyword in an article. For instance, if you have a 500 word article and want to achieve a keyword density of 5%, then you will need to have the keyword in your article exactly 25 times. You can find hundreds of resources and guides recommending one keyword density over another and the reasons behind the logic, however, in the end you will have to determine which density is more profitable for your articles. Each webmaster as their own density that they like to achieve based on past results. As long as you don’t over optimize and you are making sufficient profit from your rankings, then you can choose whatever keyword density you like.

The Right Density

No matter what exact density you choose, it is important to place keywords so that there are more at the beginning and end to produce an hour glass effect. Having the right keyword density in your article makes it more likely that you will make money off of that article because it will rise in the search engine results and be seen by more people.

Web site designers know that keeping the client happy is the most
important thing; however, this approach often backfires when one
of the client"(tm)s goals is to gain top search engine rankings.
Good SEO web site design delivers a beautiful and functional
website, a pleasant experience for those who use it, and a search
engine-friendly design. But what happens when a web designer has
a client who wants esthetics or navigation that takes away from
the site"(tm)s ability to gain top search engine rankings? Do web
developers go along with their client"(tm)s wishes at the expense
of search engine rankings, or do they politely guide the client
toward achieving all of their goals?

The biggest difference between web designers and SEO
professionals is what motivates them: creativity versus strategic
thinking. A web designer is ultimately motivated by making a
website look good to the client, thus satisfying them visually.
An SEO professional is ultimately motivated to gain top search
engine rankings for competitive keywords, thus gaining
visibility. More business owners are now waking up to the fact
that web designers are more artists than online marketers. So it
is vital to have the SEO professional and web designer work
together cooperatively on web site design.

"We do search engine optimization, too."
Often, a web site design company does a few aspects of search
engine optimization but does not really do what it takes to gain
top rankings. Companies can get roped in on this claim because a
firm does a great job at web site design or because the client
has "one-stop shop" syndrome, and so assumes a design firm is
equally skilled at SEO.

Most web developers do not consider the implications of search
engine optimization during the design phase. For example, to gain
top rankings for competitive keywords requires outranking
hundreds or even thousands of other websites that have already
been optimized for that keyword. Simply updating the meta tags
will rank the site at the bottom of the "optimized" heap and
will require ongoing work to gain a top ranking.

The client wants to keep costs down, so the web developer
compromises the SEO to stay within budget. The client needs to
know from his advisors (designers and SEO professional) what is
and is not practical, so he can reassess the budget and design
based on information supplied by an SEO expert. Because budget is
important, developers often shortcut past this advisory
checkpoint "" at the expense of gaining top rankings for the
client"(tm)s site.

It"(tm)s important to find a good web developer who will listen
to your requests, and who also will advise you on the best way to
implement the design and SEO. He needs to talk realistically with
you if the amount of work involved is not within your budget. Too
often, web developers simply implement a client"(tm)s wishes
without addressing the limitations and problems that come with
that solution. Ethical and knowledgeable web developers can
explain why you want the opinion of an SEO professional.

There are a number of issues that web designers might not handle
correctly when top search engine rankings are important,
including:

Search engine-friendly design
Obviously, you want visitors to have a good experience on your
site. But you also want search engine spiders to find all the
pages and content that will rank your site for a particular
keyword. If your site isn"(tm)t spider-friendly, it will never be
top ranked. Here are some of the search engine-friendly web
design issues we deal with regularly:

* JavaScript drop-down or slide-out menus can prevent search
engine spiders from following navigation links in web pages.
There are several design alternatives that involve text links and
don"(tm)t cause this problem.
* Requiring cookies on your website also prevents spiders from
indexing your content.
* Web pages that require users to input any type of
information in order to access the content blocks search engines
from your pages.
* Shopping cart systems that invoke session IDs. All shopping
cart systems utilize session IDs, but the further along a shopper
is in the buying process, the more search engine-friendly the
system.
* Unique title tags for each page of the site. Many automated
web design programs and dynamic database systems do not allow for
more than one title tag for every page of the site. Using a
design that describes the uniqueness of each page of your site in
the title tag achieves better results.

Navigation structure
Search engines don"(tm)t notice if your site has creative
navigation, but do notice if the navigation is cluttered.
Depending on how many pages your site contains, tightly focused
content organized by topic can pay off with higher search engine
rankings. Design navigation to optimize themes and internal
linking.

Website redesign etiquette
After a redesign, there are usually old pages that are no longer
used and might have been removed from the web server, but which
are still listed in the search engines. Don"(tm)t miss out on
search engine traffic because your web developer didn"(tm)t
redirect those old URLs to the new ones. There are various
protocols, depending on the web server, to handle URL redirects
and maintain search engine rankings. A custom error page is also
useful for visitors who click on a broken link or an address that
is no longer available.

Copywriting and duplicate content issues
If your web page contains the same wording as another page on the
Internet, it could be filtered by the search engines because it
is considered duplicate content. Search engines use a filter to
remove duplicate content pages and spam from the results they
provide. Unfortunately, many good web developers"(tm) work has
fallen victim to the duplicate content filter. These developers
unknowingly do a disservice to their clients when there are
things they could do to avoid their pages"(tm) being filtered out
of the results. Common causes of duplicate content include:

* Identical web pages "" whether affiliate sites, copied pages
or doorway pages "" that have the exact same content on them.
* Product description pages with the exact same description as
pages on the manufacturer"(tm)s website.
* Improperly hosting multiple domain names for the same
website.

Without question, original content is the best content for
websites. Always use a quality copywriter to make your web
writing unique and compelling for your particular audience.

Conclusion
Resist the temptation of the one-stop shopping experience. If you
give in, you will likely be sacrificing one or more of your goals
for the convenience. When the business owner forges a cooperative
relationship between the web site designer and SEO professional,
everyone wins. This means thinking through the SEO issues at the
beginning of the web site design plan.

Would you prefer to have the site that looks good and keeps the
customers happy or the one that also gets 40 e-mail requests and
new customers every day? This is reality for businesses that will
not settle for anything less than experts in SEO and web site
development.
