I'd like to take a few minutes of your time to discuss Internet
marketing. If you are new to the business then you may have already
become overwhelmed by all of the hype and sales pitches. Maybe you
have been searching for that one secret that will set you free from
your job and put you on a career path of your own.

I have been a successful Internet marketer for two years now and I was
once a lot like you. I spent thousands of dollars on ebooks and
training manuals. I paid thousands more to take Internet coaching
courses. I read every article, every blog, every book I could find on
the subject. It's funny that most people will buy a product that they
think will be the answer to their prayers only to forget about it a
month later and then start the cycle all over again buying more books,
taking more courses and on and on.

I'm not pointing fingers because I did exactly the same thing over and
over again. I can' t tell you how much money I lost of "Get Rich Quick
Scams". Now, I'm not a stupid person. I desired to build my dreams
just like everyone else. It wasn't until I came to the realization
that trying to do it all alone simply doesn't work. Some of the
greatest minds in human history did great things because they
surrounded themselves with other great people. Take Henry Ford for
example; Ford was an under-educated man who had nothing when he
started out. But Ford surrounded himself with a group of people that
he believed in. When Ford was building the first V-8 engine it took
his engineers over a year to come up with a design that worked. He
never gave up on his idea even when the engineers said it could not be
done.

My point is that too many people think they will stumble on some great
secret that only they will know and they will guard it with their
lives. They will be the only ones who hold some special key and they
alone will market this secret without giving away the actual secret.
All this thinking leads to disappointment because there is no secret.

I built my company by believing in people as Henry Ford did. I don't
hold some great secret. I surrounded myself with like-minded people
and together we built a wonderful Internet company helping people to
get started in the Internet business. We believed from the beginning
that we would succeed and two years later our company has become not
just a source of income but also a source of pride.

Why would I try to hide some secret and then market it to you when I
could show you how to be your own marketer and let you do your own
thing. There is plenty to go around. We do not live in a closed
society. Some of my best clients come from overseas ventures. If you
stop thinking locally and focus globally your world will open up new
frontiers for you.

Don't tell me you never thought about owning your own Indie
record label company. I guess the real question is, what has been
stopping you? Unfortunately, I know too well the answer to this
question. You are stopping you from breaking into one of the most
lucrative, record labeling industries...the Indie.

There are many reasons why people tell themselves why they can't
have their own Indie record label company. However, I'm going to
tell you why you can and more importantly, why it is imperative
that you start right now. There are many benefits to owning your
own record label company. I'm going to help convince you why you
CAN start your own Indie record company. In the following
paragraphs, I'm going to squash your lame excuses for not
starting your own Indie record company, and by the end of the
article I'll have you off the couch in no time.

The main excuse that I hear as to why someone will not start his
or her own Indie record label company is due to the lack of the
almighty dollar. Maybe you don't have a lot of George
Washington's lying around, but chances are you probably know
someone who does. If you are serious about your music, then
create a proposal, short, sweet and to the point to present to
your family, friends, etc... Wait, before you talk to them make
sure that you have done your research on how much things will
cost. Look in your local billboard magazine's classified section
for a good idea about costs for various services. Once you know
the basis for your budget, you will then be ready to speak
intelligently to your future financial backers.

Explain to your investors first and foremost how music is your
life, your passion. Then spell out in your proposal what monies
you need in order for your Indie record Label Company to become a
success. Give them a detailed description of the money needed for
production costs, musicians, recording costs, advertising and
distribution costs. The more you know about the future costs the
more secure your investors will feel about investing in your new
venture and the quicker you'll be of to start a record label.

Another reason that I hear as to why people don't start their
own Indie record label is because they do not have enough
material. If you have a single - 7", cassette, or 12" you then
have enough material. There are companies that still even work
with vinyl. Such as, Disc Makers, Europadisk,Ltd. and Rainbo.
Their prices are reasonable. The next excuse I usually hear is
that one does not have a steady gig. Well, good news. You do not
need a steady gig in order to promote your product. As long as
you have a professional looking recording, that is the only
steady gig you need.

Others tell me that they can't start their own label because
they do not have a distributor. Well, unless you have signed with
a major label, you can use other methods to distribute your
recordings. Most independent music stores are willing to take
music on consignment. You can also contact several online catalog
distribution organizations. There usually is a nominal fee,
however, artists who distribute through this medium have an
opportunity to become acquainted with the distribution side of
the business. You can also try to get your music distributed
through other independent labels.

Speaking of building new acquaintances; it is important to send
someone out to promote your label at various clubs. This brings
me to another topic as to why people believe they cannot start
their own record label...they do not have a manager. Well,
finding a manager is easier than you thought. First, put up some
ads at local colleges. You will find that there are a lot of
students willing to try their hand in the music business. Once
you decide to hire a manager, make sure it is someone you can
trust. Then make a contract with that person for either a flat
fee or for a percentage of the business. If you can it is always
a good idea to have a lawyer draw up a contract for you.

One of the more popular excuses that I hear all the time as to
why one cannot start a record label is because he/she does not
have any equipment. Folks, home recording is becoming more and
more popular. If you can't afford to buy the latest equipment,
then try to get spec time at a studio. Too can make arrangements
to record during off hours.

Finally, I have heard people say that they do not understand all
that copyright, licensing stuff and therefore they couldn't
start their own company. Well, it is not as confusing as you may
think. It only costs $20 to have your music copyrighted. Contact
the U.S.Copyright office. In order to be licensed then you need
to negotiate with ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC; otherwise you will have
to negotiate with each and every radio station that plays your
music.

I hope I have helped show you that as an artist, you can and
should start your own record label company, rather than sign with
a major label. Remember YOU control your own destiny. Good luck

Need to borrow some money then a personal loan maybe for you, most people take a personal loan for home improvements, to purchase a car and holidays. Loans are very simple you borrow a sum of money and pay it back over a period of time say anywhere between 6months to 10 years.

Interest rates on a personal loan are usually at a fixed rate for the lifetime of the loan, this is great, as you know your repayment every month. In the past most people went to their bank for loans, but know the competition is really heating up. The Internet offers some great deals; also have a look in the newspapers and on TV. There has never been a better time to pick up a personal loan, as all the lenders are looking for your business.

There are two different types of loans!

Secured – this loan is usually secured by your home which means if you fail to make the repayments, you could lose your home. On the up side secured loans do offer cheaper interest rates, if you decide to take a secured loan please make doubly sure you can afford your repayments.
Unsecured – this loan means your home is safe if you fail to pay back your loan, you’ll find it hard to get any more credit, as your credit rating would be poor. Interest rates are usually higher with an unsecured loan as the lender is taking a higher risk in getting their money back.

Loans are much like mortgages it’s the interest that you’re paying back at the start, the loan is paid further down the line. One thing to watch out for is if you pay off your loan earlier than agreed you could face penalties. You could be asked to pay back the interest for two or three months, not all companies charge this so best check.

Most loan companies will offer you PPI (payment protection insurance) they will tell you that you need it, and that if you’re off sick, have an accident or become unemployed they will help to pay your repayments. This is not always the case so please check with your lender as you could end up costing yourself a lot of money, and get nothing back if the unthinkable happened.

So secured or unsecured personal loans which one is best! The two of them really as it all depends on your circumstances. Secured – you put your home at risk if you fail to keep up the repayments, but the interest rates are much cheaper. Unsecured – you’ll get a bad credit rating if you fail to keep up the repayments, but the interest rates are much higher.

One other thing to remember with regard to a secured loan is that it is as it says, secured, and if you do not keep up repayments you could lose your home. Your home is normally used as collateral against a secured home.

Another morning of job hunting lies ahead of you. You pour a cup of coffee and
open the paper to the employment section. With a mixture of anticipation and
desperation you pick up a stub of pencil and prepare to target and identify
some possible job opportunities.

There are less ads to circle this morning and despite the promising words and
vague descriptions you have begun to believe that none of these potential
employers will seriously consider you. Perhaps they have family or friends or
maybe you'll hear once again "I'm afraid you're overqualified for this
position".

After making a few phone calls you try to get into a positive frame of mind.
You head out the door, a folder of resumes in one hand and a list of addresses
at the next. You will drop off a few resumes and have plans for an interview
this afternoon.

Maybe today will be different...

Are you or a friend looking for work? Have you heard of acquaintances laid off
from long-term employment only to find four or five months later that they are
still unable to find a job?

If you think the only way to find a job is to have connections, you may be
partly right. With such a demand for employment many jobs never make it to the
paper. How can you compete?

NETWORKING

"Leave no stone unturned". Tell friends, family and acquaintances of your job
search. These people can give you an 'IN' to their businesses when positions
come available.

They may also hear of someone who is hiring and keep you updated on
opportunities you may not otherwise have heard about. Their personal referral
can also make an impression on the employer in your behalf.

NON-POSTED JOBS

You don't have to wait for a job to be listed in the paper, or even posted on
the company board, to apply for work at a company.

Go through the phone book and make a list of companies you'd like to work for.
Call and ask if there are any positions available. Ask for the name of the
human resources manager or the individual in charge of hiring for the area you
are applying to.

Send a resume and direct it to the person in charge of hiring. Write a cover
letter that expresses your interest in the company and why you'd like to work
for them. Follow up several days later and ask for the individual. Tell them
you're checking to see that they received your resume and ask if there are any
positions that may become available.

If they are not hiring suggest you'll check back at another time. Often
positions are made available unexpectedly and by keeping in contact (without
pestering) you may be the first person that comes to mind.

This is not a secret. If you're not taking advantage, someone else will. You
can't afford to miss out on making yourself known to employers BEFORE the job
posting is made public.

Accessing this hidden job market may open up opportunities you never thought
possible. By staying one step ahead of other job searchers you can be sure
that your new job is just around the corner!

Rita Davenport had been given a free hand to design and manage
an exhibition stand for her company. The Marketing Director had
briefed her extensively on the overall idea and left her with an
open brief to produce something that would attract customers,
dealers and the trade press. Rita walked out of the meeting
feeling inspired but not quite sure what to do next.

Once you understand clearly what the sponsor needs the stand to
achieve, you can go about the business of designing and branding
your presence. If your budget will stretch to the cost of a
professional exhibition designer, you should commission a good
one. Not only does it remove some of the more stressful
elements of exhibition organization; gaining agreement to the
design, arranging manufacture, checking quality, organizing
transportation, assembly and disassembly; it allows you to be
objective about making changes. In addition, exhibition
designers will provide advice about the best position for your
stand in the exhibition hall, traffic flow through the stand,
lighting and audio-visual presentations.

If you don't have an extensive enough budget to engage an
exhibition designer, get together with a good graphic designer
who can produce well designed exhibition panels that will
impress and attract attention. You may need to provide a stand
system (normally a metal framework that is assembled to hold
the exhibition boards) but these are fairly lightweight, easy
to assemble and come ready-fitted with a lighting system.

Other considerations for your stand should include furniture to
rest your foot-sore customers, pamphlet racks for your product
information and storage for the paraphernalia that you don't
want to clutter the stand.

Before you finalize the design of the stand, run it by all of
the important decision-makers and influencers in the
organization to make sure it has their blessing before you
commit to expensive printing and photographic work.

Selecting and training your exhibition staff

When potential customers home in on your stand, they don't
really want to deal with people who only have a vague
understanding of your products and services. They generally
want very specific answers to very specific questions and it is
in your interests to people the stand with carefully selected
competent individuals who can work effectively as a team.

If you choose to use technical staff who have limited sales
experience or sales staff with limited technical knowledge, it
is vitally important to provide them with an opportunity to
pick up new skills and information prior to the exhibition.
Allow your own staff to train each other and to share tips and
techniques in sales as well as improving technical knowledge on
the products or services being exhibited.

Rita was fortunate, her exhibition budget allowed her to
commission a talented exhibition designer who project managed
the installation for her. The exhibition team was selected from

Colors have a hypnotic effect on people. Many people feel drawn
to azure blue, for instance.

The odd thing about blue is that it can make you feel trusting.
It is subtle. You are probably not aware of it. Other colors
work in the same way. Shades of colors also have a subtle
effect on your mood. Bars are often decorated in dark shades of
red, grey or blue in order to soothe customers into staying.
Kindergartens are filled with pastel shades to keep children
happy.

How can a color help sell your product? Easy. It can put your
customer in the buying mood. You can color anything your
customer sees � your product, its packaging, the website, sales
materials or your logo. If you choose the right color, you could
send people scrambling for their wallet.

Here are some colors and their power:

* Blue is an all-time favorite. If you use blue, people see you
as trustworthy. It is conservative and solid. Blue is the color
for little boys because according to folklore, baby boys are
born in the blue shadow under a cabbage. Good products and
services for blue are boys� clothes, jewelry, travel,
insurance, business services and art.

Blue exerts another extraordinary effect: it curbs the
appetite. Dieters sometimes eat in blue light, from a blue
plate in a blue-colored room. It odd thing is � it works. They
do not eat as much.

* Red signals excitement � and danger. It makes people feel
expectant. It is often used for introducing a new product. Some
good products for red are security products, toys, sports
accessories, cars, children�s clothing and pet products.

* Pink is a calming color. Pink is used to sell girls� clothes
and toys as well as cosmetics. Pink shades and lampshades
soften the light in a room. A sales price printed in pink tends
to make it appear less expensive. Perhaps, it is the calming
effect at work. Pink is also pure innocence. Little girls are
given the color because ancient folklore has it that girl
babies are born in the heart of a rose. *Yellow grabs the eye.
In fact, it is the first color babies recognize. It gives off a
secure feeling. It is excellent for children�s clothing, health
services, vitamins, pet items, music, flowers and household
appliances.

* Cream is serious and elegant. It is good for costly items. It

is used in women�s fashions, interior design, linen, bedding,
kitchens and books.

* Grey is serious. Light grey is efficient and sleek. It is
good for men�s fine clothing, silverware, machinery, genealogy
and family crests. The walls of office buildings are often
light grey. Dark grey is ultra serious.

* Green expresses freedom, purity and spaciousness. A soothing
color, it goes well with food, water, cooking, flowers, house
shutters and doors. Light green is associated with money and
ties in with the stock market and business.

* Purple is commanding and sure. In olden days it was used only
for royalty. It gives the impression of quality and works well
for exclusive and costly items. It is used for heirlooms,
books, music and memberships in exclusive clubs.

* Orange makes you look twice. It says: danger is near. It is a
bold, hot color that works well with sports clothes, games,
camping gear, outdoor vests and children�s apparel.

Every four years a World Cup will come along and occupy a football fan’s thoughts and time for weeks. Game after game, the best footballers in the world will parade their skills in front of thousands at the stadium and millions watching on the TV back in their homes.

Players

Players generally make the World Cup what it is. If there were not great players we would certainly not be watching this tournament in the vast numbers that we do. In previous World Cup finals we have seen the emergence of some great talents, talents that we would not normally be able to see.

History

Which players did the world discover after displaying their skills in previous World Cups? There would be far too greats many to be able to list in detail and there has always has always been heated discussions about who is the greatest player of all time, with two players always at the forefront of the debate.

Lets look at these players’ credentials.

Diego Armando Maradona [Argentina] 

[World Cup Honours : 1982, 1986 (winner), 1990 (2nd), 1994]

Maradona is a flawed genius, no-one has ever had his sublime talents and been able to hit the self destruct button with such great effect. Never before has a player been credited with winning the World Cup trophy single handed as he did in Mexico 1986. Even in the infamous 1986 quarter final and scoring what is widely regarded the best goal that has ever been scored in the Finals. After picking the ball up in his own half he managed to dribble hi way through a quality England side before slotting the ball past Peter Shilton, the England keeper on the day.

The Argentinean team that he played with in this tournament were all excellent players but possibly not quite good enough to lift the trophy. However, with Maradona at the height of his powers there could only be one team that could possibly win.

Maradona also helped his nation to the final of the World Cup in 1990 in Italy and only lost to a German penalty scored by Andy Brehme.

However, after failing a drug test in 1991 his career was on a downhill path and then came his final appearance on the greatest stage in the game of football.

In 1994, the World Cup in USA when he scored in Argentina’s first game against Greece anyone that watched his celebration knew that it was not only adreneline that powered the little magician. Eyes glaring into the camera, the hearts of all Argentineans knew that drugs were fuelling their talismanic captain. A drug test followed and the inevitable positive result ended Maradona’s tournament and effectively his career.

[World Cup honours : 1958 (winner), 1962 (winner), 1966, 1970 (winner)]

The only similarity between Pele and Maradona is that they hail from the same continent. Pele was the original World superstar, enjoying a career that can be regarded as a being a model professional.

Pele’s credentials are there for all to see, he set up goals, he was an instrumental leader on and off the field and he also scored goals. In fact the amount of goals that he scored is a substantial feat in itself.

His record is phenomenal, scoring five goals in a game six times, four goals 30 times and three goals 90 times. These are numbers the modern player can never dream of matching. In his illustrious playing career he scored a stunning total of 1283 goals. In his international career he scored an amazing 77 goals in 92 appearances. However, there was much more to Pele than ‘just’ goals.

He will also be remembered as being the only player in history for winning the world Cup on three occasions, a feat that is unlikely to ever be repeated. Only an injury in 1966 in England stopped him from possibly winning the World Cup on four consecutive occasions, allowing a fine England side to become World Champions for the first time.

He was captain of the greatest team of all time, the 1970 Brazil side that won the tournament so convincingly in Mexico. Anyone who has watched the final game of that tournament, which Brazil defeated Italy by four goals to one, will be amazed at the skill and vision of the original total footballing side.

Given that Pele hung his playing boots up over 20 years ago and is still revered by football fans that never saw him in his prime is testament to the great man’s passion and skill for the greatest game of all.

Many others have graced the greatest tournament that is the World Cup, but both of the players named above are by far heralded as the greatest two. But who would make the top ten complete?

Gordon Banks, Eusebio, Puskas, Zinedine Zidane, Michel Platini, Franz Beckenbauer, Garrincha and the Johann Cruyff to name but a few. In fact many modern day critics may have Cruyff as the greatest modern player, a player who helped to mould the game into the style of play that you see today.

Then there are players that did not manage to show their talents in the World Cup, the most notable being the late, great George Best from Northern Ireland. The other most notable absentee is Alfredo Di Stefano. There are actually many Latin Americans that would hail the ‘Blonde Arrow’ Di Stefano as the greatest player that the world has ever seen.

Among those still playing, Czech Republic playmaker Pavel Nedved, of Juventus, Manchester United's Dutch predator Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ukrainian goal-machine Andrey Shevchenko, of AC Milan, would top the list. But all three will appear at Germany 2006, barring late injuries, and will probably write some new headlines too.

We look forward to this year’s event with great enthusiasm and hopefully it will be remembered as being one of the greatest tournaments of all time. Let us all hope!

Many companies now advertise on search engines. It can be very
lucrative if you know what you are doing. We advertise on
search engines. If you are reading this article on-line, it is
a good chance that you use the internet on a daily basis to
find what you need - doesn�t everybody? You can tell from the
title of this article that the answer to that question is �no�.
There is still a significant segment of the population that
still aren't yet internet users, let alone skilled at using the
web to find what they need.

Ponder these statistics for a moment:

US - Population: 299,093,237
US - Internet users as of Jan/06: 205,326,680

That means 68.6% of the population use the internet.

(Information from Nielsen/NetRatings, published on
InternetWorldStats.com)

According to this information there are almost 94 Million
Americans (or 31.4% of the population) who are not internet
users. Of course some of these people are going to be too young
or too old, but even removing the approximately 46 Million
Americans who are either above 75 or below age 10 you are left
with 48 Million Americans (or 16% of the population, data from
2000 US Census) in key-buying demographics that do not rely on
the internet for their product and service searches. And how
about those considered 'internet users' by the Nielsen
statistic that only use email and only occassionally?

So if you are only marketing via the internet, you are probably
excluding up to 40% of your possible customer base right off the
bat!

Search Engine advertising can be a great asset because it helps
people who are looking for your service find you. But what about
the people who don't come up with the idea to use your service
on their own. For example, we have an extensive search engine
advertising program, but we also have almost 1 Million
addresses that we have purchased and mail to regularly. Most of
the people we get from our postcard mailings are not postcard
buyers already. They are business owners looking to expand, and
we educate them through our mailings how to do that with
postcards.

If we only advertised on the internet we would only get
business from people already looking for our service. Truth is,
most of our customers have never Googled the word �postcard�
because they hadn't thought of doing direct mail until we gave
them the idea.

Maybe you are in a Business-to-Consumer Industry, the same rule
applies. Some people will type "duct cleaning service, Tampa"
into a search engine, but most people don't think of duct
cleaning on their own. If a man is looking for a piece of
jewelry for his wife, he may find you on Google, but with
postcard mailings you can generate orders from guys not
thoughtful enough to come up with the idea on their own.

While internet advertising can be a healthy part of your
balanced marketing diet, if you are only using the internet,
you are far from maximizing your reach and your sales.
Diversify your marketing plan with direct mail and your will
have more healthy sales numbers come the end of the year.
